Laura DeVries
CommCore Marketing, LLC
- Describe your professional background. What experiences helped prepare you to be a part of our Board?
My marketing and communications experience spans over 27 years from small privately held companies, to software technology, non-profit, Fortune 500 and local industrial manufacturers. I believe these experiences contribute to a strong and diverse background that lends well to both our St. Charles community commitment and to Community Livening’s mission. I respect and understand the importance of volunteering and giving back to our community that encompasses the AMAZING and life-changing services Community Living offers to their clients and families.
- Why did you choose to be part of Community Living’s Board of Directors?
For me, it’s a deep and personal connection that initially began on a professional level. I was fortunate enough to support Community Living during a time of transition as I worked side-by-side the pool of talent in the organization. I learned very quickly that the passion of the organization is infectious.
Daily, my family walks a life with their challenges associated with behavioral dysregulation and mental wellness and I clearly see the value that Community Living offers families at many different levels. Community Living meets their clients and families where they are rather than trying to force a fit that doesn’t make sense to where they are. If in some way, I can lend a skill set and support to the organization then perhaps I am filling a small but beneficial role for the Community Living family.
