Staff Sara smiles next to participant Aiden and her family.

We are incredibly fortunate to have a team full of kind, energetic, and passionate people. Among them, Sara stands out with her bright smile and steady dedication. As we approach her two-year anniversary on June 27, we want to take a moment to share the impact she has made in our community.

Sara’s journey with Community Living Inc. began thanks to a little encouragement from her sister, Amanda, who worked here as a nurse. Sara had a background in elementary Special Education and worked with the Wentzville School District for five years. “I wanted to continue my journey of serving individuals of ALL abilities,” Sara said. She knew that Community Living would be a great place for her to continue this mission.

Starting as a Residential Staffing Coordinator, Sara quickly proved that her role was much more than just administrative work. She built strong relationships with our clients, becoming a trusted and beloved figure from the start. Now, as the Engagement and Intake Coordinator of Support Services for Adults (SSA), Sara helps guide families through the intake process, ensuring they feel confident and comfortable with their loved ones’ care.

In her new role, Sara absolutely loves being in our centers and witnessing the incredible interactions between staff and participants. “The days I get to be in our centers are my favorite days. Our SSA team and participants are my driving force. They are the glue that binds us!” Sara said.

Outside of work, Sara’s life is filled with family time. She has been married to her husband for almost 16 years, and they have two wonderful children, Kylie and Sam. The family also includes two labrador retrievers, Sally Cena and Bella White. Fun fact: Sara is a twin and enjoys spending time with her large extended family. While she doesn’t have much time for hobbies, she dreams of golfing more, even though she jokingly admits she’s not very good at it!

We are so grateful to have Sara as part of our team! Her kindness, energy, and dedication make a difference every day. Here’s to many more years of making everyone feel special and heard, Sara! Thank you for being such a bright light in our community.

“Our SSA team and participants are my driving force.”
